The document reads, in part: Haji Mulla Husayn, the preacher, settled his property in Sarshur district to his two underage sons, Aqa Shaykh Muhammad Baqir and Aqa Shaykh ʻAbd al-ʻAli. Until thirty years from the date of this document, the benefits of the settled property are for Haji Mulla Husayn. Jahan Khanum's claim to her share of inheritance, 1901-1904
In 1901 or 1902, Muhammad Mirza (originally from Yerevan and a resident of Sanandaj) writes in his will while in Karbalaʼ and on his way to pilgrimage to Mecca, declaring that part of his property should be sent to ʻAtabat. After his death, Jahan Khanum from Kurdistan asks for her share of the inheritance, claiming that she is his only inheritor, but this claim needs to be proven in the presence of a religious judge. Mashhadi Habib, the son of the late Husayn ‘Amu, appoints his younger brother, Ni‘mat, as the executor of his will and Karbalayi ‘Askar, the son of ‘Ali Pasha, as the overseer while he [Mashhadi Habib] travels to Karbalaʼ. They are responsible for giving ten mans [unit of area] of his share of a garden to his wife, Munavvar, as her mahr. A third of his belongings should be in Ni‘mat's hands for use on khums, the payment of his debts, ta‘ziyah, and charity.
